Things between Khai and were are great. I couldn’t have asked for a better boyfriend. After we got things settled with the Jael guy, we decided to make it official. He asked me to move in with him a couple weeks ago but I was uncertain about that. We had been dating for close to eight months but I didn’t know if I was ready to take that major leap yet. I told him I would think about it after I took my bar exam, which was scheduled for next month.

I hadn’t heard anything from my ex-boyfriend for a few months now, so I was hoping that he had finally taken the hint that I wasn’t coming back and to leave me alone. So all in all, life was looking better for me. I had my man, and had made some friends in Tyler, Shy, and Quinn. They were a ball of fun when we all hung out. They weren’t filled with drama and unnecessary beef with other females. They kept to themselves and I liked that about them.

We had all hung out and did some shopping and went to lunch earlier today and I was dead tired. I was headed home to take a nap and just chill out and get some studying done for the rest of the day. When I pulled up to my apartment complex, I pulled into my designated parking spot and got out. Before I knew what was going on, there was a hand wrapped around my mouth and what felt like a gun poking me in my back.

“Why couldn’t you just obey me and bring your ass home?”

I started screaming, but the screams were muffled due to him covering my mouth. All of my neighbors were nosey as hell but the one time I needed someone to be peeking out their window, they decided to mind their business.

“AZ calm down before I break your fucking neck out here. Now we are going to grab the rest of your bags and go in the house like the happy couple we are. If you try any slick shit I will just kill you right here” Darnell said. I don’t know how he keeps on finding me. I made sure this time when I moved that I didn’t tell anyone. I gave them a P.O. Box as an address in case they wanted to send me things. I really thought I was covering my tracks and hiding from him.

Once we got into my apartment, he turned and slapped the shit out of me. I felt the bruise as it began to form on my cheek. I had to think fast and get out of this shit. It seemed like no matter what I did, he always found me. I was tired of running from him.

“Darnell, can you please just leave me alone and let me live my life? You didn’t want me when you had me. How long did you think I was going to stick
